Martha Solomon

Martha enjoys working in hospitality because of the different people she meets and works with every day; “I like to see our customers happy, and the caring and team-work that exists between myself and workmates in a hospitable environment.”  Having worked in hospitality now for 6 years, Martha grew up in the Philippines where hospitality comes second-nature to many!

Whilst studying at Auckland University of Technology to pursue a degree in International Hospitality Management, one of her career highlights was when she was selected by AUT Hospitality Department as the first and only student to be part of their Hospitality Graduate Programme in November 2015. This meant Martha got to work in various sectors of their department and gain experience in event coordination, catering operations, café supervision and audio visual management. Along with this work experience, Martha gained direct mentoring from AUT’s hospitality director and managers- invaluable direct feedback that further improved her skills and knowledge.

What Martha most wants guests to know about the hotel is the great facilities and amazing staff who are passionate about meeting the needs of their guests.  Leisure-time is often spent teaching primary level children about good ethics at Sunday School church, and if the weather is nice, she enjoys trekking around many great areas in the north island, with her husband. Her ideal destination would be anywhere around Europe; “I would like to experience train travel to Switzerland, Netherlands, Greece and Barcelona etc”.
